Here is a clip of CNN correspndent Jenie Moos making fun of Fox News for reporting on a story that the Los Angles Police Department would be buying 10,000 jet packs for its police force. Highlighting what a joke Fox News is as a "news" organization, the source of the news that the Los Angles police department would be buying 10,000 jet packs at $100,000 a unit, came from The Weekly World News. If you are not familiar with The Weekly World News, it is a supermarket tabloid most known for reporting on alien abjuctions and other super natural "news" stories.
Due to the popularity of Fox News, it is no surprise why the country is in the shape it is today.

Fox News is NOT a "serious" news organization! LOL.. What a suprise!How about MSNBC and CNN? They both compete with Fox News for ratings and MSNBC along with CNN desperately attack Fox News because their ratings are much lower than that of Fox News. If we take the time and do our research, as well as using Fox News to pick both MSNBC and CNN apart, would it be safe to say that neither MSNBC nor CNN would qualify as serious news organizations? If so, then what we have is nothing more than media bias. It seems MSNBC, CNN and Fox News ALL fall short of the criteria for what we consider as "serious" news.

I have to agree with Ted that US MSM is Far from serious news. We can add the other commercial networks (ABC, NBC, & CBS). I would even add in the US Public broadcasting services since they are somewhat dependent upon private support.
There needs to be some other sources for News in the US.
All of the main stream media in America, especially the infotainment networks like Fox, CNN, and MSNBC, are not serious news outlets. Just like newspapers which have to rely on money from advertisers, the media in America is not as independant or critical as it should be.
As most long time blog followers will know, the Grand Prince has never endorsed any media outlets with the sole exception of independant blogs like War in Context and Tom Dispatch. People who are serious about their news, read it, they don't watch it.
People who are serious about their news make it.
